Abertura de dados em Instituições de Ciência, Tecnologia e Inovação no Brasil

Abstract

In line with the international open science movement, Brazilian institutions have sought to implement repositories to store and make available research data produced by their community. The incentive to install institutional research data repositories focuses on collaboration for the promotion of Science, Technology and Innovation through the production, socialization and integration of scientific and technological knowledge in the consolidation of research data repositories, using Dataverse. The work is carried out through the planning and implementation of research and development (R&D) actions and knowledge transfer related to the creation of research data repositories in Dataverse. The main objective of this article is to present the project that supports the implementation of research data repositories in four institutions selected by an Open Call from Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq), Instituto Brasileiro de Informação em Ciência e Tecnologia (IBICT) and Rede Nacional de Ensino e Pesquisa (RNP) in 2021, namely UFRA, UFC, UFG and CBPF. The project execution team was composed by researchers from RDP Brasil.  The project ended in August 2022, however, REDEDADOSABERTOS, formed by the four institutions, received the addition of FIOCRUZ and EMBRAPA, to have its R&D actions continued in the second half of 2022. Currently, it aims to provide sustainability to research data institutional repositories with governance mechanisms for an embryonic national network, which is being experimented with.
