Abstract

In CPLP, higher education, science, technology and innovation are fundamental pillars to ensure social equity, economic growth and social development in the Member States. Scientific and technological training is an essential step for the CPLP's spaces of higher education and science, technology and innovation to begin to emerge and contribute to the deepening of interaction between member states (MS).

In this way, in meetings involving the ministers of Science, Technology and Higher Education of the CPLP, the execution of a project was identified as a priority action with a view to the development of an initiative that promotes and supports open science practices, in particular regarding open access, in CPLP member states, through the provision of infrastructures to support the creation of a portal that aggregates scientific content made available by member states, a common repository, which allows the collection and availability of scientific content produced by the several national scientific and academic institutions, which are not in a position to have their own repositories and to carry out communication, dissemination and training activities.

The execution of the project began in November 2021 and lasts for four years. It is in charge of three entities: the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), the – University of Minho (UM), and the Brazilian Institute of Information in Science and Technology (IBICT).

This document intends to make known the project and its execution status. It also aims to take advantage of the mobilization that CONFOA generates to expand the involvement of the scientific communities present around the project and the importance of the visibility of scientific production.
